Trekking in the Annapurna range
North of Pokhara, Annapurna trekking region offers endless possibilities for Trekkers. Treks courts 2 to 7 days as well as long treks spanning ten to twenty days. In geographical terms as well as culturally, this region has a reputation for being among the most diverse of Nepal. Evolving first in a subtropical wetland, some circuits are approaching the polar zone of high Himalayan glaciers at the edge of Mustang, a semi-desert region on the edge of the Tibetan plateau. The lower valleys and hills are inhabited by such Brahmanas, the Chhetris, the Gurung, Magar and Thakali while the high valleys are mainly populated by ethnic groups of Tibetan origin whose Manangis.
Besides some short treks near Pokhara easily accessible and not too demanding, three circuits are particularly popular trekking in the Annapurna range. Jomson trekking traverses the valley of the Kali Gandaki in the west of the massif. Trekking the Annapurna Sanctuary goes to the base camp of Annapurna. Around the Annapurna range, makes a loop around the mountains with the passage of Thorung, a high pass at over 5000 meters. This is undoubtedly the circuit trekking Nepal's busiest.
