Dhulikhel/Nabuddha Hiking

Trip Introduction

Dhulikhel is situated in the east part of Nepal and is just 32 km away from the capital city Kathmandu valley. The main attractions of Dhulikhel are the panoramic mountains views, numerous temples, and different types of landscape including diversity of people. The wide view of the high mountains can be seen from Karyolung in the east to Himalchuli in the west. It is the main highway to the Tibet via Tatopani boarder.

According to the Buddhist legend, Buddha offered his body to a starving tigress so she could fee her cubs. His reliquary Stupa remained underground for centuries in Namobuddha. It is the sacred place for Buddhists and many pilgrims come to the stupa and Monastery nearby daily but especially on Saturday.

Small but historical Panauti city is just 36 km way east of Kathmandu. The confluence of the Roshi Khola and Pangamti Khola ( river) outside the town.


Trip Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,295 m/4,273 ft.)

Arriving in Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA), you will be met by a Nepal Alternative Treks airport representative. Transfer by Private car/ Van (depends on the size of group) to the select Hotel Marshyangdi. Stay overnight on B/B basis.

Day 2: Visit world heritage sites in Kathmandu.

Full day Kathmandu sightseeing (world heritage sites) – Boudhanath stupa, Pashupatinath temple, Monkey temple, and Kathmandu Durbar Square. Private car/van (depends on group size) and tour guide. Stay at the same hotel on B/B basis.

Day 3: Kathmandu- Bhaktapur- Dhulikhel.

Drive private vehicle to Bhaktapur Durbar square. Explore one of the oldest cities with a rich culture and art. It is also a historical place. Then drive to Nagarkot to spend overnight on FB plan after Sunset in the afternoon.

Day 4: Dhulikhel- Namobuddha.

Hike to Namobuddha 3/4 hours after panoramic Mountain View in the morning from Dhulikhel. You will see Himalchuli, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Langtang, Mount Everest many more. We will stay at Namobuddha overnight on FB basis.

Day 5: Namobuddha-Panauti- Kathmandu.

Early morning hike to a hill where the Buddhist monastery is situated. It is a historical place. You also could see a good view of Kathmandu valley from there. After making a round walk from left at Buddhist Stupa hike down to Panauti. The vehicle will be waiting for you to transfer to the select hotel ( Hotel Marshyangdi). Stay there overnight on B/B basis. In the evening, you are cordially invited to a farewell dinner where you will experience typical Nepali food and cultural entertainment, courtesy of Nepal Alternative Treks.

Day 6: Departure.

Nepal alternative treks provide you free transportation to Trivuwan international airport and departure to your home or other destination.

Cost Includes:

  • All land transfer, arrival, and departure as per the itinerary.
  • Hotel accommodation with bed and breakfast Twin sharing basis as per the itinerary.
  • Food during the trek 3 meals a day (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) in specified local lodges.
  • Tea and coffee (cup) three times daily on Hiking.
  • English speaking experienced & professional trekking guide licenses holde.
  • Porters (1 porter carries the luggage up to 25 kg of 2 participants during the trek).
  • City tours as mentioned in the itinerary with English speaking guide and all land transportation with private car/jeep/van.
  • All necessary trekking and climbing related permit including, National Park Entrance fee.
  • Insurance, proper warm clothing, shoes, sun glass and daily wages for guide and porter.

  • Lunch and dinner while in Kathmandu.
