Trip Overview
The Mardi Himal Trek is one of the hidden gems of Nepal's Annapurna region, offering an unforgettable trekking experience through pristine forests, traditional mountain villages, and breathtaking Himalayan landscapes. Located east of the popular Annapurna Base Camp trail, this route provides a quieter and more peaceful alternative while still delivering spectacular mountain scenery.
Beginning from Pokhara, the trail ascends gradually through picturesque villages, dense rhododendron and oak forests, and scenic ridgelines before reaching High Camp. Along the way, trekkers enjoy panoramic views of Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, and the surrounding snow-capped peaks.
The highlight of the trek is the early morning hike to Mardi Himal Base Camp (4,500 m), where you'll witness one of the closest and most dramatic mountain panoramas in Nepal. The sunrise over the Annapurna range creates an unforgettable spectacle, making every step of the journey worthwhile.
In addition to its natural beauty, the trek offers opportunities to experience the warm hospitality and unique culture of the Gurung community while staying in traditional tea houses. With moderate trekking distances, comfortable accommodations, and well-maintained trails, the Mardi Himal Trek is suitable for both first-time trekkers and experienced hikers looking for a rewarding Himalayan adventure.
The best seasons for the trek are March to May and September to November, when the skies are clear, temperatures are pleasant, and the mountain views are at their finest.
