Jiri to Everest Base camp trek is oldest path in the Everest region. This used to be famous trail during Sir Edmond Hillary and Tenjing Norgary Sherpa’s period. Sir Edmond Hillary and Tenjing Norgey Sherpa summited Mt. Everest on May 29,1953 for the first time using the trail from Jiri. We will have to spend 8 days passing different sherpas villages, thundering river,walking ascending and descending through the trail. There is a new route and short cut trail to do. The trekking to Everest base camp starts from lukla with the height of 2860m after landing to the lukla airport. This airport was build by Sir Edmond Hillary after succeding the submit of Everest and named as Edmond hillary Airport. At the present Everest Base camp trek can be done directly from Lukla and stay overnight at Phakding and follow the same route.
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu, transfer to Hotel, cultural dinner in the evening.
Day 02: Kathmandu to Jiri [1,955M / 6,463FT].
Day 03: Trek to Bhandar [2,190M / 7,185FT].
Day 04: Trek to Sete [2,580M / 8,464FT].
Day 05: Cross Lamjura Pass [3,530M / 11,581FT] and trek to Junbesi [2,670M / 8,759FT].
Day 06: Trek to Nunthala [2,330M / 7,644FT].
Day 07: Trek to Bupsa [2300M / 7,544FT].
Day 08: Trek to Surkhe [2,290M / 7, 513FT].
Day 09: Trek to Phakding [2,610M / 8,562FT].
Day 10: Trek to Namche Bazaar [3,440M / 11,286FT].
Day 11: Rest and acclimatization day in Namche Bazaar, optional activities.
Day 12: Trek to Tengboche.
Day 13: Trek to Dingboche.
Day 14: Rest/acclimatization day around Dingpoche, hike to Chhukung if you feel fine.
Day 15: Trek to Lobuche.
Day 16: Trek to Gorak Shep, hike to Everest Base Camp and return to Gorakshep Hike to Kalapatthar early morning for stunning Himalayan views, trek back to Pangboche.
Day 17: Gorak Shep – Kala Patthar (5,545m/18,192ft) – Pheriche (4280m/14,070ft):7-8 hrs.
Day 18: Pheriche – Phortse (3,750m /12,300ft) 4/5 hrs.
Day 19: Phortse – Monjo ((2,800m /9,200ft) 5/6 hrs.
Day 20: Monjo – Lukla (2,780m /9,175ft) 5/6 hrs walk.
Day 21: Lukla – Kathmandu by Air (1,300m /4,264ft) 35 minutes airstrip.
Day 22: Final departure.
